Give Your Children the Best on Christmas!

Well, it is that time of year again! Everyone is busy with decorating their homes, making party plans, and buying gifts for loved ones as Christmas Day approaches. How about you? Have you already finished your Christmas shopping? Did you pick out that perfect gift for each of your children (and grandchildren)?

What if I were to tell you that there is a far better gift that you can give your child than what awaits them Christmas morning? You can’t purchase this gift at the mall. You can’t order this gift online. And you can’t (or at least, wouldn’t) wrap this present and put it under the Christmas tree. “What is this special gift?”, you ask. The special gift is you. That is, a healthy, long-living you.

If you were to ask your spouse, your kids, or your grandkids if they would love to have you around for a very long time, what do you think they would say? You see, when you are part of a family, you are needed – and you are loved. In many ways, your health is just as important to your family as it is to you. Not to put a guilt trip on you (okay, maybe I am), but you have an obligation to do everything in your power to “be there” as it were, for your family, in the years/decades ahead.

How many people would consider driving down the middle of the road on a two-lane highway? There are those that scoff at such a notion, yet make unhealthy lifestyle choices every day, which lead to premature disability or death. They don’t stop and think about the long-term health consequences of their food choices or sedentary lifestyle choices. Many people actually believe that whatever disease they may contract later in life, that there is a pill (or cocktail of pills) that will “cure” them. But all they have to do is look around and see what is happening in our society. Chronic diseases are on the rise like never before.
